Elect Kandy Sztepanacz for Penticton City Council 2026

Kandy Sztepanacz

I’m Kandy (Kandace) Sztepanacz, and Penticton has always been a very important part of my life. I grew up here and have strong family roots in the community.

I have spent more than 14 years working in healthcare. I currently work as a Nursing Unit Clerk in the Emergency Department at Penticton Regional Hospital, I am a Registered Professional Counsellor, and I am also completing the Practical Nursing program at Okanagan College.

Outside of work and school, I’m a mom of two and enjoy spending as much time as I can outdoors. I love hiking, paddle boarding, floating the channel, and playing softball with my hospital team. I also enjoy photography, painting, writing, and crocheting.

I’m someone who values family, community, creativity, and staying connected to the place I call home

Penticton needs practical solutions that improve safety, affordability, and quality of life without creating new problems in the process. One of my strongest priorities is addressing the current bike-lane and traffic-calming infrastructure by removing or redesigning large concrete barriers, narrowed roadways, and traffic patterns that interfere with vehicle movement and emergency access, while still maintaining safe, well-planned routes for cyclists. I also want to see stronger action on crime and community safety, along with a greater focus on homelessness and the challenges it creates for both vulnerable residents and the wider community. My platform also focuses on affordable housing, support for local businesses and economic growth, expanded education and training opportunities, and responsible, cost-conscious decision-making at City Hall.
